**Hyderabad, India – September 26, 2025** – Several districts across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are bracing for heavy to very heavy rainfall, as a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal intensifies into a depression. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, with the possibility of winds gusting up to 60 kmph.
The depression is expected to cross the coast between southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh on Friday evening, bringing torrential downpours to the region. Authorities have issued alerts for coastal areas, advising residents to avoid unnecessary travel and fishermen to stay away from the sea due to rough conditions.
Telangana is expected to experience intense thunderstorms and heavy rain, prompting the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre to issue warnings for numerous districts. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has held a high-level review meeting with top officials, instructing them to be vigilant and take necessary precautions, particularly in low-lying areas.
