**MADURAI, September 26, 2025 (The Hindu)** – In celebration of World Tourism Day, the Best of Tamil Nadu (BoT), a wing of the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, launched a new tourism application at the “BoTfluence Southscape 2025” event held in Madurai on Friday. The event, organized in association with the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department, aimed to highlight the potential of tourism as a driver for balanced and equitable economic growth.

BoT Chairman J. Vijaya Darshan emphasized that tourism fosters shared learning, cultural exchange, and collective happiness. He described BoTfluence Southscape as a platform bringing together leaders, policymakers, innovators, and cultural ambassadors to elevate Tamil Nadu’s rich heritage. The new tourism app promises users time-bound planning, tailor-made recommendations, and curated local experiences.

During the event, a detailed tourism development proposal was presented to Madurai District Tourism Officer T. Umadevi. The proposal included several initiatives to enhance tourism in the region, such as kayaking and canoeing in Vandiyur tank, boating in Teppakulam and along the Vaigai riverfront, 3D laser shows and documentary screenings at the World Tamil Sangam, and open-air cultural performances. The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry hopes these developments will boost tourism and contribute to the economic growth of the region.
