**Hyderabad, September 26, 2025 (BVRABN)** – Telangana is bracing for a deluge as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red and orange alerts for several districts, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state today and tomorrow. The IMD specifically warned of extremely heavy rainfall in Hyderabad, expecting severe conditions to persist for the next 48 hours.

The districts expected to be hardest hit include Mulugu, Karimnagar, Vikarabad, Nirmal, Bhupalpally, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Jagityal, Mahabubabad, Nizamabad, Warangal, and Sircilla. The IMD has urged residents to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.

In response to the weather warnings, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has put authorities on high alert and ordered the evacuation of residents from flood-prone areas. Reddy has directed officials to closely monitor the situation, conduct regular reviews, and establish relief camps as needed. He also instructed electricity officials to prevent power outages and address any potentially hazardous dangling wires.

Specifically, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), HYDRA, NDRF, and SDRF teams are on high alert in Hyderabad, focusing on areas vulnerable to flooding. The government is taking all necessary precautions to minimize the impact of the expected heavy rainfall and ensure the safety of its citizens.
