**New Delhi:** A bitter dispute has erupted within the Kapur family following the death of Sunjay Kapur, former chairman of Sona Comstar. At the heart of the matter is a will that allegedly leaves his entire estate to his third wife, Priya Kapur, excluding his children from previous marriages and his mother, Rani Kapur.

Sunjay’s sister, Mandhira Kapur Smith, has publicly criticized the situation, stating that the “bloodline of Surinder Kapur,” their father and founder of Sona Comstar, “is getting nothing of what he created.” She expressed outrage that the family is being made a “mockery” of.

The Delhi High Court recently allowed Priya Kapur to submit details of Sunjay Kapur’s assets, estimated at ₹30,000 crore, in a sealed cover. However, Mandhira Kapur Smith objects to Priya Kapur’s insistence on non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) for anyone accessing the list.

Karisma Kapoor, Sunjay Kapur’s second wife, is also involved in the legal battle, fighting for the rights of her children, Samaira and Kiaan. Mandhira Kapur Smith revealed that she and her mother are in daily contact with Karisma, united in their concern for the well-being of all six grandchildren of Rani Kapur.

The family disputes the authenticity of the will, arguing that it’s inconceivable Sunjay Kapur would disinherit his children, whom he reportedly “doted over.” They allege that the insistence on confidentiality is a tactic to “fritter away the assets.”

“Our children are not seeing a penny. My mother’s not seeing a penny. We are not seeing a penny. And it’s all going out,” Mandhira Kapur Smith lamented. “All we are asking for is the information. Why is everything so quiet? Why is it such a secret?”

The case is ongoing, with the Kapur family determined to challenge the will and secure the legacy of Surinder Kapur for future generations.
