**PLA Member Arrested in Connection with Deadly Manipur Ambush**

**Imphal, September 24, 2025** – Manipur police have arrested a key suspect in connection with the deadly ambush on an Assam Rifles convoy that occurred on September 19th in the Nambol Sabal Leikai area of Manipur. The attack resulted in the deaths of two paramilitary personnel and injuries to five others.

Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Singh announced the arrest of Khomdram Ojit Singh, also known as Keilal, 47, from the Imphal West district. Singh has confessed to being an active member of the banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA). He also admitted to currently being out on bail, after a previous arrest in 2007.

“During the operation, one person, namely Khomdram Ojit Singh@ Keilal (47) was apprehended… He admitted he is a bailed-out member of PLA… He was directly involved in the ambush,” DGP Rajiv Singh said in a statement.

Following the arrest, police recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition, as well as a mobile phone, wallet, and Aadhaar card believed to have been used in the attack, based on information provided by Singh.

Police have also detained two other individuals in connection with the attack on September 20th and located a silver-blue van near the ambush site, suspected of being used in the operation.
