Wed Sep 24 03:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Punjab Kesari: Devotees Celebrate the Third Day of Navratri 2025, Worshiping Maa Chandraghanta

**New Delhi, [Date – Assumed to be September 24, 2025]:** As the auspicious festival of Shardiya Navratri continues, devotees across India are celebrating the third day dedicated to Maa Chandraghanta, the third of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Shardiya Navratri, considered a sacred time in Hinduism, began on September 22nd and will continue for nine days, each dedicated to a different form of the Goddess.

Today, devotees are observing fasts and performing elaborate rituals to appease Maa Chandraghanta. Known for bestowing courage, wisdom, and inner peace upon her devotees, Maa Chandraghanta is depicted with a golden complexion, ten arms holding various weapons, and a crescent moon shaped like a bell (chandra-ghanta) on her forehead, giving her the name.

According to religious texts, worshiping Maa Chandraghanta helps devotees gain control over their restless minds, attain spiritual progress, and unlock the ‘Manipura Chakra.’ It is believed that her divine grace brings longevity, good health, happiness, and prosperity. Furthermore, her blessings are said to eradicate sins and remove obstacles from one’s life.

Devotees offer Maa Chandraghanta her favorite color, red, on this day, as it symbolizes power, energy, and the Goddess’s divine radiance. Wearing red clothing during the puja is also considered auspicious.

Punjab Kesari urges its readers to celebrate Navratri with devotion and reverence, and to seek the blessings of Maa Chandraghanta for a fulfilling and prosperous life.
