**Bihar Deputy CM Confident of NDA Victory, Nitish Kumar to Remain CM**
**Patna, September 22, 2025** – With the Bihar Assembly elections looming, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed strong confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) prospects, asserting that incumbent Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would retain his position if the NDA secures a majority. In an exclusive interview with The Hindu, Choudhary, a prominent OBC leader, outlined the NDA’s preparedness and addressed key issues surrounding the upcoming polls.
Choudhary emphasized the unity within the NDA, comprising five partners, and their determination to surpass their 2010 electoral performance. He dismissed perceptions of him acting as a “Super CM,” reiterating Kumar’s leadership and highlighting the development initiatives undertaken by the government in sectors like infrastructure and education.
Addressing allegations of corruption and rising crime leveled by the opposition, Choudhary refuted the claims, pointing to past corruption charges against opposition leaders. He stated that Nitish Kumar symbolizes good governance, and criminals are quickly apprehended and brought to justice in Bihar.
Choudhary also touched upon the dynamics of Bihar politics, including the role of leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, clarifying his own political journey and affiliations. He criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s campaign slogans, accusing him of undermining democracy.
Regarding alliance partners, Choudhary expressed trust in all members of the NDA and their commitment to collective progress. While seat-sharing arrangements are yet to be finalized, he affirmed that discussions were underway and expressed confidence that all partners, including Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi, would remain within the NDA fold.
Choudhary also addressed allegations made by Jan Suraaj party founder Prashant Kishor, dismissing him as lacking political experience and maturity.
With the election approaching, Choudhary underscored the NDA’s focus on development, good governance, and inclusive growth under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
