**Guardians Dominate Twins in Doubleheader Sweep, Extend Winning Streak to 10**

**MINNEAPOLIS, MN -** The Cleveland Guardians showcased dominant pitching and timely hitting on Saturday, sweeping a day-night doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins with a pair of shutout victories. The Guardians won the first game 6-0, hitting five home runs in a game for the first time since April 10, 2021. The Guardians carried the momentum into the second game, securing an 8-0 victory fueled by Steven Kwan’s four RBIs and a stellar eight-inning performance from Logan Allen.

Allen (8-11) earned his first win since July 29 by scattering four hits and striking out seven. Guardians starters have allowed no more than two earned runs in 15 straight games since Sept. 5, the longest streak in franchise history.

The Guardians’ offense exploded in the fifth inning of the second game, sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring six runs. Kwan’s one-out single drove in Brayan Rocchio and Petey Halpin, followed by RBI singles from Kyle Manzardo and C.J. Kayfus, capped off by a two-run double from Gabriel Arias. Kwan added a two-run single in the eighth to extend the lead.

The Guardians’ doubleheader sweep marked the 11th time in franchise history that the team has pitched shutouts in both games of a doubleheader, and the first since Sept. 30, 1964, against the Red Sox.

With the wins, the Guardians have now won 10 straight games and 15 of their last 16. They are now just one game behind the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central and tied with the Houston Astros for the final American League Wild Card spot, just one game behind the Boston Red Sox.

The Twins struggled throughout the day, managing just seven hits in the doubleheader. Bailey Ober (5-9) allowed six runs on eight hits in five innings in the second game. The Twins have now lost seven of their last nine games and are 4-15 in September.
