Tue Sep 16 03:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Razorbacks Fall to Ole Miss in High-Scoring SEC Opener

**OXFORD, Miss. -** The Arkansas Razorbacks dropped their SEC opener in a heartbreaker, losing a shootout to No. 13 Ole Miss 41-35 on Saturday. Despite a stellar offensive performance, highlighted by quarterback Taylen Green’s impressive showing, defensive struggles and missed field goals ultimately doomed the Hogs.

Green completed 22 of 35 passes for 305 yards and a touchdown, adding 111 yards and two scores on the ground. Wide receiver O’Mega Blake was his primary target, hauling in six catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. Running back Mike Washington Jr. also contributed significantly, rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns. The offensive line deserves credit for allowing no sacks, a stark contrast to last year’s eight.

However, the defense faltered, particularly in the secondary. Backup quarterback Trinidad Chambliss exploited communication breakdowns and missed assignments. Starters Larry Worth III and Kani Walker struggled, and the constant blitzing proved ineffective, leaving large spaces in the secondary for Ole Miss to exploit.

Adding to the woes, freshman kicker Starzyk missed two crucial field goals, from 51 and 49 yards, which proved to be the difference in the six-point loss.

“It was a tough one,” said Coach Pittman. “Our offense played great, but we have got to improve on defense.”

The Razorbacks (0-1, 2-1) now turn their attention to a non-conference road game against Memphis (2-1) next week, aiming to regroup before facing a challenging stretch against Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. Improvements on defense and special teams will be crucial for the Hogs to succeed in the weeks to come.
