**Hyderabad, Telangana – September 15, 2025** – The Telangana Aarogyasri Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) announced today that private network hospitals across the state will indefinitely suspend services under the Aarogyasri Scheme starting at midnight on September 16th. This drastic measure comes after repeated appeals to the government to address long-standing issues of pending payments have gone unanswered.
TANHA President Vaddiraju Rakesh stated that despite numerous discussions with Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha and officials from the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust (AHCT) over the past three weeks, assurances of resolution have not translated into actual disbursement of funds.
“Despite repeated assurances and promises from both the Health Department and AHCT, there has been no resolution to our long-pending issues. We are, therefore, left with no option but to indefinitely withhold services across all private network hospitals in Telangana from September 16, 11.59 p.m.,” Dr. Rakesh explained in a statement.
This isn’t the first time TANHA has taken such action. The association previously boycotted services at the beginning of the year before calling off a 10-day strike following a meeting with the Health Minister. They again threatened to launch a strike in late August.
The association expressed regret for the inconvenience this suspension will cause to beneficiaries of the Aarogyasri scheme and urged the public to understand the constraints faced by the hospitals. The future of the scheme and its impact on the healthcare access for vulnerable populations in Telangana now hangs in the balance.
