**Netflix Renews Hit Series “The Hunting Wives” for Season 2 Following Massive Success**

**LOS ANGELES, CA – September 12, 2024** – Netflix announced today the renewal of its breakout series, “The Hunting Wives,” for a second season. This news comes on the heels of the show’s impressive performance, racking up over 20 million views within the first five weeks of its debut and consistently ranking in Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV list during that period.

Season 2 will feature the return of the original cast, including Brittany Snow as Sophie and Malin Akerman as Margo, along with Jamie Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, and George Ferrier. Showrunner Rebecca Cutter promises another “sexy, twisted, bats— crazy ride” through Maple Brook. While Season 1 adapted May Cobb’s novel of the same name, the upcoming season will feature an original script, exploring a new chapter in the lives of these complex characters.

Though fan-favorite characters Jill (Katie Lowes) and Starr (Chrissy Metz) met their demise in the season finale, Metz has expressed her desire for flashback scenes in a potential second season. She believes there needs to be explanation for Jill’s actions.

“I feel like Jill had to have a secret. Because why else would she do that? Starr was a good woman,” Metz told People Magazine. “So what is Jill hiding?”

Malin Akerman has also voiced her enthusiasm for continuing Margo’s story, citing the close bond among the cast and crew. She told People Magazine, “I definitely want a season 2, not only to see it all play out, but when you get to go back to a show over and over again, it’s like going to summer camp and seeing the people that you love the most.”
