**Two Tickets Split Near Record-Breaking $1.787 Billion Powerball Jackpot**

**(CITY, STATE) – November 7, 2024** – The Powerball jackpot has finally been won! After 42 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, two lucky tickets, sold in Missouri and Texas, will split the staggering $1.787 billion prize. This marks the second-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever won, falling just short of the $2.04 billion record set in California in November 2022.

The Multi-State Lottery Association announced the winning tickets after Saturday’s drawing. The winning numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61, 62 with a red Powerball of 17 and a Power Play multiplier of 2.

The winning ticket in Texas was sold at a Big’s convenience store in Fredericksburg, approximately 70 miles northwest of San Antonio, according to the Texas Lottery.

Each winning ticket holder faces a life-altering decision: receive an estimated annuitized prize of $893.5 million or a lump sum payment of $410.3 million, both before taxes. Experts advise consulting with financial advisors before making any decisions.

Beyond the jackpot winners, two tickets, sold in Kansas and Texas, matched enough numbers to win $2 million each. An additional 18 tickets sold across 13 states won $1 million.

While the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are a daunting 1 in 292.2 million, the possibility clearly drove players to purchase tickets nationwide. Tickets are priced at $2 and are available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Powerball jackpot now resets to $20 million for Monday’s drawing, offering another chance for hopeful players to dream big.
