President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday that nearly 60% of the weapons used by the Ukrainian military are now produced within the country. This surge in domestic production is largely focused on drone technology and bolstering air defenses, crucial in combating Russia’s persistent drone and missile attacks.

Meanwhile, in Russia, President Vladimir Putin is pushing for advancements in aerospace technology. Late Friday, Putin urged the country’s aerospace industry to focus on developing booster rocket engines and building upon Russia’s existing space technology. He also highlighted the PD-26 aircraft engine project, stating its development would be crucial for the advancement of both military transport and passenger planes.

Despite sanctions, Russian Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) continues to find its way to China. A second tanker carrying LNG from the sanctioned Arctic LNG 2 project docked in a Chinese port this week, according to ship-tracking data. This comes just days after Putin met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing, raising questions about the economic relationship between the two nations amidst international pressure on Russia. This is the second vessel from the sanctioned project to dock in China since late August, signaling ongoing energy cooperation between Moscow and Beijing.
