Sat Sep 06 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad Ganesh Laddu Auction Shatters Records, Fetching a Staggering ₹2.32 Crore
**Hyderabad, Telangana – September 6, 2025** – The annual Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Hyderabad have once again captivated the city, but this year’s festivities have been marked by an unprecedented event. A Ganesh laddu (sweet offering) in Rajendranagar was auctioned for a record-breaking ₹2.32 crore, rewriting the history of Ganesh laddu auctions in the region.
For decades, the Balapur Ganesh laddu auction has been a highlight of the Vinayaka Chavithi festival, consistently fetching impressive sums. However, the Rajendranagar auction has surpassed all expectations, catapulting it into the spotlight and challenging the Balapur laddu’s long-held dominance.
“The response was overwhelming,” said a local attendee. “People from all over Hyderabad came to witness the auction. No one expected the price to soar to crores!”
The astronomical bid signals a growing trend in Hyderabad, with other localities increasingly participating in laddu auctions and drawing significant attention. The Rajendranagar auction’s success is expected to elevate its status, potentially positioning it as a rival to the famed Balapur laddu auction in years to come.
Meanwhile, in Kukatpally Balaji Nagar, the Ganesh laddu was auctioned for ₹5.15 lakhs and won by Colony president Sadhu Pratap Reddy. The second and third Laddus were sold for 2.10 and 1.60 Lakhs respectively. Pratap Reddy said that he would distribute the laddu to well-wishers for supporting him during election last month.
