**Anshula Kapoor Reveals Childhood Trauma Following Parents’ Divorce**

Mumbai, India – Anshula Kapoor, known for her recent appearance on “The Traitors,” has bravely opened up about the lasting impact of her parents’ divorce on her childhood. In a candid interview with The Quint, Kapoor revealed that she initially blamed herself for the separation of her parents, Boney Kapoor and Mona Kapoor, a burden she carried from the young age of five or six.

“I, for the longest time, thought that my parents’ relationship didn’t work out because of me, that I was the root cause of it. For a six-year-old to carry that weight is a lot,” Kapoor shared. She credits her mother, Mona Kapoor, for helping her understand that relationships are complex and not a child’s responsibility.

Kapoor also described the social stigma she faced following the divorce, recounting judgmental looks and exclusion from social circles. “Navigating the separation of my parents, when nobody really understood what was going on, was a lot,” she said, adding that she developed resilience but also felt isolated.

Mona Kapoor, who passed away in 2012 after battling cancer, served as Anshula’s pillar of strength. “She was the wind beneath my wings,” Kapoor emphasized, explaining that her mother provided the self-esteem and positive reinforcement she needed to navigate life’s challenges. Kapoor stated that without her mother’s support, she fears she would have struggled to lead a normal life.

Boney Kapoor and Mona Kapoor had two children, Arjun and Anshula. Boney Kapoor later remarried actress Sridevi, who tragically passed away in 2018. They had two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Anshula’s openness offers a glimpse into the emotional toll divorce can take on children and highlights the importance of parental support during such transitions.
