Thu Jul 03 05:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Dodgers’ Pitching Staff Hit Hard by Injuries, Ohtani to Start Saturday

**LOS ANGELES (AP)** – The Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitching woes continue as reliever Michael Kopech becomes the 12th pitcher to land on the injured list (IL), the team announced Tuesday. Kopech’s right knee inflammation, while not considered long-term by manager Dave Roberts, has prompted the move, retroactive to Saturday.

Despite the injury setback, there was some positive news for Dodgers fans. Shohei Ohtani is scheduled to make his fourth start on Saturday against the Houston Astros, with Justin Wrobleski expected to follow as a bulk pitcher. Ohtani pitched two scoreless innings against Kansas City last weekend.

To fill Kopech’s spot, right-hander Will Klein has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City just five days after being optioned.

Further updates on other injured pitchers were also provided:

* **Roki Sasaki:** The highly touted Japanese rookie is now pain-free and has resumed throwing from flat ground. His velocity and intensity are improving.
* **Tyler Glasnow:** Will make his next rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, aiming for five innings and 75 pitches.
* **Blake Snell & Blake Treinen:** Both pitchers are set to throw to hitters on Wednesday as they work their way back from shoulder and forearm issues, respectively.

The Dodgers are hoping these key arms can return soon to bolster a pitching staff that has been consistently challenged by injuries throughout the season.
