**Carville and Acosta Sound Alarm: Will Trump Rig 2026 Midterms?**
**NEW YORK, NY** – Democratic strategist James Carville has raised concerns about the potential for President Donald Trump to tamper with the 2026 midterm elections. In an appearance on “The Jim Acosta Show” this week, Carville told Acosta that he fears Trump will attempt to manipulate the vote in order to prevent Democratic gains in Congress and maintain control over his second-term agenda.
“In the short word, yes,” Carville said when asked directly if he believed Trump would tamper with the midterms, “In the longer words, very.”
Carville predicted that Trump would grow increasingly worried about Republican congressional power as major elections, such as the 2025 Virginia gubernatorial race, approach. He suggested that Trump might see the writing on the wall and resort to extreme measures to maintain his grip on power.
“I don’t put anything past him — nothing — to try to call the election off, to do anything he can,” Carville stated.
Acosta, a known Trump critic, echoed Carville’s concerns, saying, “This is scary s—, Acosta…And he’s already tried to steal one election before, so, I mean, what’s to say he’s not going to try to steal more?”
In response to the allegations, a White House spokesperson, Taylor Rogers, told Fox News Digital, “President Trump has taken more action to restore the integrity of our elections on behalf of the American people than any president in modern history. According to the Democrats, voter fraud doesn’t exist – but clearly they are already searching for copouts preparing to lose big again in the midterms.”
It is worth noting that some of Carville’s past predictions regarding Trump have not come to fruition, including his prediction that Kamala Harris would win the presidency and that Trump’s presidency had already collapsed months into his second term.
