**Lynx Dominate Sun, Extend WNBA Lead Behind Collier’s Stellar Performance**
**Minneapolis, MN –** The Minnesota Lynx continued their dominant season on Sunday, routing the Connecticut Sun 102-63 and solidifying their position as the top team in the WNBA. Fueled by another exceptional performance from MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier, who tallied 23 points and nine rebounds, the Lynx cruised to their 14th win of the season against just two losses.
The Lynx set the tone early, jumping out to a ten-point lead and never looking back. A stifling defensive effort held the Sun to a mere two points over a nearly ten-minute stretch, while the Lynx offense exploded for a 29-2 run. Kayla McBride contributed 20 points, including three three-pointers, and dished out five assists. All five Lynx starters scored seven or more points, showcasing the team’s balanced attack.
The Sun, already struggling this season with a 2-16 record, were further hampered by the absence of leading scorer Marina Mabry. Aneesah Morrow led the Sun with 16 points.
The Lynx carried a commanding 50-26 lead into halftime and extended their advantage in the third quarter, outscoring the Sun 27-15. The victory, coupled with losses by the New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury, gives the Lynx a three-game cushion atop the WNBA standings in the loss column.
Adding to Collier’s impressive week, she was named one of the two WNBA All-Star Game captains along with Caitlin Clark.
The Lynx will next face Clark and the Indiana Fever in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship on July 1 at 7 PM CT at Target Center. The game will be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, with both teams vying for a $500,000 prize pool.
