**Kerala Khadi Board Aims for ₹100 Crore Turnover with “I Also Want Khadi” Campaign**

**Kannur, July 2, 2025** – The Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) is launching a major statewide initiative, the “I Also Want Khadi” campaign, from August 1st to September 4th, with the ambitious goal of achieving a ₹100 crore turnover during the upcoming Onam season.

Announced at a press conference in Payyambalam on Wednesday by KVIB Vice-Chairperson P. Jayarajan, the campaign will feature a 30% rebate on Khadi clothing and gifts, alongside schemes offering prizes worth ₹25 lakh. A significant component of the campaign targets youth and government employees, providing credit facilities of up to ₹1 lakh to promote Khadi adoption.

Jayarajan highlighted the success of recent efforts to modernize Khadi’s image, including online sales through platforms like Khadi Trends and Vibes, as well as a partnership with the Kerala Institute of Fashion Technology for the Dees clothing line. He also noted that Khadi products are now being exported to countries like Italy and those in the Gulf region.

In a bid to further bolster revenue, the KVIB has appointed a special officer to explore the commercial potential of available resources, with plans to convert surplus materials into income-generating products. An agreement has also been reached with Indian Oil Corporation to establish petrol outlets at KVIB locations in Pappinissery, Kannur, and Mavungal, Kasaragod.

The board is also focused on revitalizing Khadi Cooperative Societies, particularly those supporting Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities, through new schemes and financial assistance.

Adding to the momentum, the Pattiam Social Service Society, under the KVIB’s Special Employment Generation Programme Scheme, has launched “Pattiam’s Super Stiffy After Wash,” a new fabric enhancer. The product was officially released by Mr. Jayarajan and will be available at Khadi outlets across Kerala in 1-litre, 500ml and 200ml bottles priced ₹210, ₹110 and ₹50 respectively.
