**Hyderabad, July 1, 2025** – Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has launched an ambitious plan to overhaul the state’s Anganwadi centers, aiming to establish them as a national model for early childhood care and development. During a review meeting held yesterday, June 30, 2025, with officials from the Women Development, Child Welfare, and related departments, Reddy outlined a comprehensive strategy encompassing infrastructure, nutrition, and education.

Key initiatives include constructing modern Anganwadi centers utilizing advanced technology, potentially using container-like structures equipped with solar panels. The Chief Minister also proposed partnerships with NGOs to provide nutritious food, including Balamrutham Plus and jowar rotis inspired by practices in Karnataka. A 100-day action plan focusing on nutrition, center management, and robust monitoring mechanisms will be implemented.

Reddy emphasized the importance of collaboration between Anganwadi and ASHA workers in providing care for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children. He also suggested establishing mobile Anganwadi centers in slum areas and regions with large migrant worker populations. Tapping into the expertise of retired professionals and IT sector employees as teaching volunteers was another suggestion.

Beyond early childhood development, the Chief Minister addressed broader welfare issues. He directed officials to facilitate the admission of orphaned children into polytechnic colleges and overseas skill training programs. Recognizing the challenges faced by elderly parents, Reddy proposed studying models like Assam’s, where a portion of employees’ salaries is directly credited to their parents’ accounts. Furthermore, he advocated for providing employment opportunities for transgender individuals in various departments, including Traffic Police, Transport, and IT sectors.

All these welfare measures targeting women, children, the disabled, and the elderly will be integrated into the upcoming “Telangana Rising-2047” policy document, demonstrating the government’s commitment to inclusive development. Ministers D. Anasuya (Seethakka), Adluri Laxman Kumar, and Ponnam Prabhakar were present at the review, underscoring the government’s unified approach to these important social issues.
