**Aamir Khan’s “Sitaare Zameen Par” Soars at Box Office, Reviving Urban Multiplex Films**

**Mumbai, India – [Date]** – Aamir Khan’s latest film, “Sitaare Zameen Par,” is exceeding expectations at the box office, signaling a comeback for the superstar and a revival of urban multiplex cinema. Despite a slow start with an opening day collection of ₹10.70 crore, the film has quickly gained momentum, earning ₹66.50 crore domestically in its first four days and a remarkable ₹96 crore worldwide over the opening weekend.

Trade experts are hailing the film’s performance as a significant win for Aamir Khan, whose last hit was in 2016. His subsequent releases, “Thugs of Hindostan” (2018) and “Laal Singh Chaddha” (2022), failed to resonate with audiences.

“It’s a massive win for Aamir Khan. He took a bold decision, and audiences have respected his sincerity,” said Kamal Gianchandani, Chief of Business Planning & Strategy at PVR INOX Ltd and CEO of PVR INOX Pictures Ltd. “It’s a little gem, the film is wonderful, it has fun and entertainment, but it also carries a strong social message. The film will be in theaters for a long time.”

Adapted from the Spanish movie “Campeones”, “Sitaare Zameen Par” features Aamir as a basketball coach ordered to train intellectually disabled players. Positive word-of-mouth has fueled the film’s success, with Monday’s footfalls expected to surpass Friday’s figures – an unusual occurrence in the film industry.

“This rare trajectory in the film industry doesn’t just point to commercial success—it reveals a deep, sustained emotional resonance with viewers, propelling the film into truly uncharted territory,” said Devang Sampat, CEO of Cinepolis.

Distributor-exhibitor Akshay Rathi believes the film marks the return of urban multiplex hits. “The film has risen like a phoenix from day one to three… Sitaare Zameen Par marks the return of urban multiplex hits… This film is here for the long run, and its lifetime business should be ₹200 crores.”

Directed by RS Prasanna, “Sitaare Zameen Par” stars Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, and ten newcomers, all of whom are specially-abled. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
