Wed Jun 25 13:51:44 UTC 2025: ## Krishnagiri Revenue Staff Protest, Demand Better Protection and Working Conditions
**KRISHNAGIRI, June 25, 2025** – Members of the Federation of Revenue Associations (FERA) staged a protest and rally in Krishnagiri today, June 25th, demanding improved protection for revenue employees and better working conditions. The association’s demonstration centered on several key grievances, highlighting the pressures faced by revenue staff across the state.
A primary concern raised was the vulnerability of field staff, particularly those involved in disaster management and land surveys. FERA is advocating for a specific law to safeguard revenue employees from public assaults and to ensure adequate compensation reflecting the risks and responsibilities of their roles.
Furthermore, the association strongly criticized the increasing reliance on outsourced agencies for disaster management and other critical programs. FERA insists that permanent employees should be appointed to these positions, ensuring stability and expertise in handling such vital operations.
The recent government order reducing compassionate employment quotas from 25% to 5% was another point of contention. FERA argued that this decision unfairly disadvantages families of deceased employees and called for an immediate reinstatement of the previous policy.
Finally, the association highlighted the “stressful” working conditions and “unreasonable” revenue targets imposed on staff. FERA demanded that the government create working conditions and compensation packages that are commensurate with the responsibilities and demands of the job.
The protest serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by revenue employees in Karnataka and the urgent need for the government to address their concerns.
