**Israel’s 20-Month Military Campaign Spans Five Nations, Raising Regional Tensions**

Washington D.C. – A fragile ceasefire is in place between Israel and Iran following a brief but intense conflict, triggered by Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. The truce, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, comes after a surge in military activity across the Middle East, according to data analyzed by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED).

The ACLED data reveals that between October 7, 2023, and June 13, 2025, Israel conducted nearly 35,000 recorded attacks across five countries: the occupied Palestinian territory, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran. These attacks encompassed a range of military actions, including air and drone strikes, shelling, missile attacks, and property destruction.

The majority of these attacks have been concentrated in the occupied Palestinian territory (at least 18,235 incidents) and Lebanon (15,520 incidents). However, Israeli military operations have extended far beyond its immediate borders, reaching Syria (616 incidents), Iran (58 incidents), and Yemen (39 incidents). Notably, Israeli fighter jets have struck targets up to 2,000 kilometers away in Yemen.

The analysis highlights Israel’s reliance on advanced U.S.-supplied aircraft, including F-15, F-16, and F-35 fighter jets, as well as drones for surveillance and targeted strikes.

The report also details the devastating impact of Israel’s ongoing assault in Gaza, which is described by many experts, human rights organizations, and international observers as genocide, with at least 56,077 confirmed killed and 131,848 injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza. Additionally, Israel has been accused of employing similar tactics in the occupied West Bank, resulting in widespread destruction, displacement of at least 40,000 Palestinians and nearly 1,000 Palestinians killed over the past 20 months, including more than 200 children.

Furthermore, cross-border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon led to thousands of casualties and widespread destruction. Israel also launched a campaign of aerial bombardment against Syria following the collapse of the al-Assad family’s regime, severely damaging the country’s military infrastructure. Finally, Israeli forces have targeted Houthi-controlled infrastructure in Yemen in response to missile and drone attacks on Israel.

The latest escalation occurred on June 13, 2025, when Israel launched a series of air and drone strikes deep into Iranian territory, targeting military installations, weapons depots, and infrastructure linked to Iran’s regional influence and missile capabilities.

The data underscores the increasingly regional nature of the conflict and raises concerns about the potential for further escalation in the Middle East.
