Wed Jun 25 15:40:00 UTC 2025: ## British Paedophile Arrested in Disneyland Paris Over Mock Wedding to Child
**Paris, France** – Jacky Jhaj, a 39-year-old British man with a prior conviction for sexually exploiting minors, has been arrested in Disneyland Paris in connection with orchestrating a mock wedding ceremony involving a nine-year-old Ukrainian girl. French authorities charged Jhaj with fraud, breach of trust, money laundering, and identity theft and placed him in pre-trial detention.
Jhaj’s past criminal record includes a 2016 conviction for sexual activity with two 15-year-olds, landing him on the sex offenders register and subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The recent arrest stems from an incident on Saturday, when Jhaj allegedly hired an actor to play the girl’s father at the planned mock wedding. The actor subsequently alerted police, leading to Jhaj’s arrest. Preliminary findings indicated that Jhaj was allegedly professionally disguised so that his face appeared totally different, according to the French prosecutor.
The BBC has been investigating Jhaj for some time, uncovering his involvement in staging elaborate productions involving children. In 2023, Jhaj hired hundreds of children, some as young as six, to act as adoring fans at a fake film premiere in London’s Leicester Square. He was also seen giving gifts to children outside dance auditions in June of last year. Two months later, Jhaj was filmed posing naked in front of a mocked-up BBC News lorry set on fire in London.
The mock wedding in Disneyland Paris reportedly cost over €130,000 (£110,000) and involved around 100 hired extras. The Ukrainian girl, who arrived in France two days prior, was found to have not been subjected to physical or sexual violence, nor forced to participate as the bride, according to the French prosecutor. Disneyland Paris officials stated they were deceived and that a fake Latvian ID was used to rent the venue.
Adding to the complexity of the case, a YouTube channel styled as an official performer’s channel and linked to Jhaj’s productions, garnered over six million views and 12 million subscribers. The BBC revealed that some videos included secretly filmed footage of one of Jhaj’s 15-year-old victims, highlighting the platform’s failure to address the exploitation of children. Despite alerting Google, which owns YouTube, the videos were not removed until last September.
The UK’s Metropolitan Police also confirmed that Jhaj is wanted for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a breach of a Sex Offenders’ Register notification requirement. “We are aware the man has been arrested in France for other matters and officers are in contact with the French authorities,” a statement said.
The source of funding for Jhaj’s elaborate productions, which have involved hundreds of thousands of pounds in expenses, remains unclear. The investigation is ongoing, focusing on the circumstances surrounding the mock wedding and the exploitation of children in Jhaj’s previous ventures.
