**KOCHI, June 25, 2025** – A husband and wife have been arrested by the Kochi City police in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Ashik from Edakochi. The duo is accused of conspiring to kill Ashik, who was discovered severely injured in a refrigerated truck in a deserted area of Edakochi on Monday night.
According to police reports, the accused woman initially claimed Ashik sought her help after an accident. She transported him to Ernakulam General Hospital, where he later died from a deep thigh wound and subsequent blood loss.
However, investigations revealed the woman was present with Ashik in the vehicle when her husband allegedly approached and stabbed him. Police confirmed that Ashik was a former family friend of the couple and had developed an affair with the woman. Following a period where she left with Ashik, she filed a sexual abuse complaint against him with the Ernakulam Central police in April, leading to his arrest and remand.
Both accused were produced in court on Wednesday and have been remanded to judicial custody. The Palluruthy police are continuing their investigation into the case.
