**India Achieves Historic Milestone at Leeds Test, Smashes Century Record**
**Leeds, England** – Team India etched its name in cricket history during the ongoing Test match against England at Leeds, achieving a feat unmatched in its previous 93 years of Test cricket. For the first time, the Indian batting lineup has collectively scored five centuries in a single Test match, turning the game into a high-scoring affair.
The run-fest began in India’s first innings, with centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (101), Shubman Gill (147), and Rishabh Pant (134) propelling the team to a formidable 471. Following England’s strong response, KL Rahul joined the century club in the second innings, while Pant remarkably secured his second century of the match, marking the first time an Indian wicketkeeper-batter has achieved twin Test tons.
This achievement marks only the sixth instance of a team scoring five centuries in a Test match in the history of cricket. India also becomes only the second team to do so in an away Test, following Australia’s similar feat against the West Indies in 1955.
Despite some early setbacks in the second innings, key partnerships, particularly the 195-run stand between Rahul and Pant, have solidified India’s position. At the end of Day three, India are in a strong position, having given England a solid platform to go all guns out blazing for the remainder of the match, but not without giving England some chances.
England’s innings was highlighted by Ollie Pope’s century and valuable contributions from Ben Duckett, Harry Brook and lower-order batsmen, but Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna were the top bowlers that stopped them scoring more.
The match is ongoing, but India’s historic batting performance has already secured its place in cricket lore.
