**Dhankhar and Madhav Advocate for Realism in India’s Foreign Policy**
**New Delhi, June 23, 2025** – Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and senior RSS leader Ram Madhav have called for a significant shift in India’s foreign policy, urging a move away from “romanticism” towards a focus on national self-interest and strategic strength. The call was made during the launch of Madhav’s new book, “The New World: 21st Century Global Order and India.”
Dhankhar praised V.D. Savarkar as a visionary who understood the importance of realism in international relations, arguing that global politics are driven by self-interest, not morality or solidarity. He warned against internal “sinister forces” seeking to divide India and emphasized the need for strategic thinking to navigate global challenges.
Madhav’s book explores the decline of the post-World War II liberal international order. He argued that India needs to reorient its strategy, citing China’s rise and Turkiye’s growing influence as examples of the changing global landscape. Madhav stressed that modern conflicts are increasingly unconventional and that India must proactively participate in shaping the new world order. He also stated that international diplomacy should prioritize national interests over ideological loyalties.
In response to a question about India’s relationship with Iran, Madhav reiterated that there are no permanent friends or foes in international politics, only permanent interests. He also criticized the United Nations for failing to deliver on its mandate, suggesting that India may need to explore alternative global partnerships.
Congress MP Manish Tewari, while acknowledging the global volatility, highlighted the increasing complexity of modern global conflict.
