**Hyderabad, June 23, 2025** – In preparation for the monsoon season, the Hyderabad District administration has launched a comprehensive “Stop Diarrhoea Campaign – 2025” aimed at preventing and managing diarrhoea cases across the district. The initiative was announced by District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari during a review meeting of the District Task Force Committee held on Monday.
Collector Dasari emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination, instructing officials from the Health Department, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) to work together to achieve the campaign’s goals.
“Our priority is to ensure that no child dies from diarrhoea in the district,” stated Collector Dasari, underscoring the administration’s commitment to reducing the under-five mortality rate in line with the National Health Policy.
Medical officials have been directed to focus on areas with a history of high diarrhoea incidence. Key measures include ensuring adequate stocks of diarrhoea medication and ORS sachets in all government hospitals, Anganwadi centers, schools, and hostels.
The GHMC has been tasked with enhancing environmental sanitation through regular tank cleaning, water testing, and disinfection programs. The HMWSSB is responsible for ensuring a consistent supply of clean drinking water throughout the district.
The campaign highlights the administration’s proactive approach to public health concerns during the monsoon season and its dedication to safeguarding the well-being of its citizens, especially children.
