**PLANO, Texas -** A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross US-75 in Plano. The Plano Police Department is investigating the fatal incident, which occurred around 10:45 p.m. at the intersection of East Park Blvd. and the northbound lanes of US Highway 75.
According to police reports, the pedestrian was walking westbound, trying to cross the northbound lanes of US-75 when a vehicle traveling northbound struck them. The impact threw the pedestrian into another lane, leading to a chain reaction. A second vehicle, attempting to avoid the pedestrian, swerved and collided with the initial vehicle. That initial vehicle then struck a third vehicle.
Plano Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead. The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to release the identity of the deceased.
