Sun Jun 22 04:08:15 UTC 2025: **Headline: Human Rights Group Reports High Casualties in Israeli Strikes on Iran as Regional Tensions Escalate**

**Dubai – June 22, 2025:** Israeli strikes on Iran have resulted in at least 865 deaths and 3,396 injuries, according to a report released Sunday by the Washington-based Human Rights Activists group. The group, which has a proven track record of providing detailed casualty figures in Iran, identified 363 civilians and 215 security force personnel among the dead.

These figures contrast with those released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Saturday, which reported approximately 400 deaths and 3,056 injuries. Iran has often been accused of minimizing casualties during the conflict.

The escalating tensions prompted Israel’s Airport Authority to close the country’s airspace to all inbound and outbound flights, citing “recent developments.” This closure followed U.S. airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites early Sunday morning. The U.S. intervention marks a significant escalation, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.

Despite the strikes on nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Fordo, and Natanz, Iranian state media, quoting the country’s National Nuclear Safety System Centre, reported “no signs of contamination” and “no danger to the residents living around the aforementioned sites.” The International Atomic Energy Agency has previously confirmed that earlier Israeli airstrikes on nuclear sites caused no recorded release of radioactive material.
