**U.S. Launches Airstrikes on Iranian Nuclear Facilities**
**Washington D.C. -** In a move that is sure to escalate tensions in the Middle East, the United States military has reportedly conducted airstrikes targeting three nuclear facilities within Iran. According to claims made by U.S. President Donald Trump, the strikes specifically targeted the Fordow nuclear site, a deeply buried and heavily fortified complex, with the use of B-2 Stealth Bombers deploying GBU-57 A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs.
The GBU-57, also known as the “Mother of All Bombs,” is a U.S. exclusive weapon designed to penetrate and destroy hardened underground targets. This GPS-guided munition, developed by Boeing in 2015, weighs approximately 30,000 pounds and contains over 5,300 pounds of explosives. The MOP is capable of penetrating up to 200 feet of earth and fortified concrete, making it significantly more powerful than its predecessor, the BLU-109.
It has been rumored that Israel has been pushing for the use of this type of weapon to harm Iranian nuclear facilities and that’s what pushed the USA to take action.
The Pentagon has yet to release a formal statement.
This is a developing story. More updates will be provided as available.
