**Bengaluru, June 20, 2025** – Bengaluru Central and West division police conducted a series of raids on 19 bars and restaurants Thursday night, resulting in 15 FIRs being registered for violations of licensing norms. The raids targeted establishments in prominent areas like M.G. Road, Brigade Road, and Majestic, following a tip-off regarding potential illegal activities.

Police stated that numerous bars were found to have women serving customers in revealing attire, in contravention of licensing regulations. Some establishments were allegedly operating as dance bars and exceeding the permitted 1 a.m. closing time.

“There were reports of serious violations and immoral activities being carried out at some of these bars and restaurants, prompting us to raid them,” stated a police spokesperson. “All establishments have to operate strictly adhering to their licence conditions and guidelines laid down by the High Court of Karnataka. Stringent action will be taken against all violators.”

Police warned that future violations could lead to the cancellation of the establishments’ licenses. In addition to licensing breaches, raids also uncovered violations of Health and Family Welfare regulations and norms set by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). These violations will be reported to the relevant departments for further action.
