**Jerusalem/Tehran** – Early Saturday morning, air raid sirens wailed across Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, sending Israelis scrambling for shelter as Iran launched a barrage of missiles. The Israeli military confirmed that its air defense systems were active, attempting to intercept the incoming projectiles. Dozens of missiles were reportedly launched from Iran, with some successfully intercepted. While the military remained tight-lipped about casualties, rescue teams were deployed to locations where missiles had fallen.

On Friday night, Israeli ambulance services reported 34 injuries in the Tel Aviv area, mostly minor. Police later confirmed one fatality.

The United States military confirmed its involvement in intercepting Iranian missiles headed for Israel. President Trump urged Tehran to halt the Israeli bombing campaign and reach a deal on its nuclear program, but Iran dismissed the possibility of further nuclear talks with the US as meaningless.

The escalating exchange between Israel and Iran has sparked widespread fears of a broader regional conflict, despite the weakened state of Iran’s regional allies, Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, following previous Israeli campaigns.
