**NEW YORK** – ABC News has decided not to renew the contract of veteran correspondent Terry Moran after he posted controversial comments on X (formerly Twitter) criticizing former President Donald Trump and his aide, Stephen Miller. The network announced the decision Tuesday, citing a “clear violation of ABC News policies” regarding objectivity and professionalism.

Moran, a senior national correspondent who has been with ABC News for 28 years, referred to both Trump and Miller as “world-class haters” in the now-deleted post. He described Miller as someone whose “hatreds are his spiritual nourishment.”

“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran, and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew,” a network spokesman said in a statement. “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.”

The posts drew immediate condemnation from Trump allies, including Vice President JD Vance, who called it a “vile smear.” Both Vance and Miller pointed to the incident as evidence of alleged anti-Trump bias in mainstream media.

Moran’s suspension came just months after he received praise for his interview with Trump in the Oval Office and subsequently led ABC’s coverage of the papal conclave in Rome.

During the interview, Trump had told Moran, “I picked you because, frankly, I never heard of you, but that’s OK.”

Moran’s contract is set to expire on Friday. He has not yet commented on the situation. During his tenure, Moran held various positions at ABC News, including chief White House correspondent and co-anchor of “Nightline.”
