**Indian Industrialist and Polo Player Sunjay Kapur Dies Suddenly in England at 53**
**Guards Polo Club, England – June 12, 2025** – Sunjay Kapur, prominent Indian industrialist, avid polo player, and ex-husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, tragically passed away today in England at the age of 53.
According to sources, Kapur was participating in a polo match at the prestigious Guards Polo Club when he began to feel unwell. He reportedly requested to stop the game and exited the field. Shortly thereafter, he suffered a fatal heart attack. Some sources suggest that Kapur may have swallowed a bee, and the sting in his throat triggered the cardiac event.
Kapur was the patron of the Aureus polo team and was playing against Sujan, a team run by hotelier Jaisal Singh, at the time of the incident. He was an alumnus of the esteemed Doon School.
News of Kapur’s passing has been met with shock and sadness. Kapur was last active on his verified X account earlier today, expressing his condolences for the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.
Sunjay Kapur was the Chairman of Sona Comstar, a leading mobility technology company specializing in engineered automotive components. Headquartered in Gurugram and established in 1995, Sona Comstar operates manufacturing and R&D facilities across India, the USA, Serbia, Mexico, and China. The company is also a key supplier to the Electric Vehicle (EV) sector.
Kapur is survived by his wife, Priya Sachdev, and his two children, Samaira and Kiaan, from his previous marriage to Karisma Kapoor.
