**U.S. Reaffirms Support for India’s Counterterrorism Efforts, Strategic Partnership**

**New York/Washington – June 11, 2025** – The United States reiterated its strong support for India’s fight against terrorism and the robust bilateral strategic partnership during a recent visit by an Indian all-party parliamentary delegation. U.S. State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce confirmed the reaffirmation during a press briefing on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

The delegation, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in Washington last week. Discussions centered on the strategic alliance between the two nations and U.S. support for India’s counterterrorism efforts, particularly in the wake of “Operation Sindoor,” India’s response to the devastating April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Bruce also acknowledged a separate visit from a Pakistani parliamentary delegation, led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. During their meeting with Under Secretary for Political Affairs Allison Hooker, the U.S. reiterated its support for the ongoing cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan and discussed counterterrorism cooperation. When pressed on assurances from Pakistan regarding action against terrorists, Bruce declined to discuss specifics.

Regarding President Trump’s past offers to “mediate” the Kashmir issue, Bruce stated she could not speak to the President’s specific plans but emphasized his commitment to resolving long-standing international conflicts. India has consistently rejected any third-party mediation on Jammu and Kashmir, maintaining that the region is an integral part of the country.

The U.S. State Department did not provide further details regarding specific counterterrorism measures or future collaborative efforts but confirmed the continued commitment to a strong U.S.-India relationship.
