**’Today’ Show Family Mourns the Loss of Sheinelle Jones’ Husband, Uche Ojeh**
**New York, NY – June 3, 2024** – The ‘Today’ show team is rallying around their colleague, Sheinelle Jones, following the passing of her husband, Uchechukwuka Adenola Ojeh, on Friday, May 23, after a battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Ojeh was 45 years old.
A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30, in New York City, attended by Jones’s ‘Today’ show co-hosts, including Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Jenna Bush Hager, and Hoda Kotb. Images from the service showed the emotional support of the group, highlighting the close bond shared within the ‘Today’ show family.
Guthrie announced Ojeh’s passing with deep sorrow during a broadcast of ‘Today,’ describing him as Jones’s “perfect partner in life.” She shared that Ojeh and Jones were married for 18 years and have three children: Kayin, 15, and 12-year-old twins Clara and Uche.
Co-hosts Carson Daly and Melvin also shared heartfelt tributes to Ojeh, emphasizing his dedication as a father. Melvin noted Ojeh’s constant presence on the sidelines of his children’s activities, highlighting his love and devotion.
Jones took to social media to express her gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received. Jones and Ojeh met as students at Northwestern University, where Ojeh proposed during a rainstorm on the campus where they met. The couple married in 2007.
The ‘Today’ show family continues to offer their love and support to Sheinelle, Kayin, Uche, Clara, and the entire Ojeh family during this difficult time.
