**Indian Military Prioritized Outcome Over Losses in Operation Sindoor, Says Top General**
**Pune, India** – Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan stated Tuesday that the success of a military operation outweighs the losses incurred, referencing India’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor. Speaking at a special lecture at Savitribai Phule University in Pune, General Chauhan addressed concerns about armed forces’ losses during the operation, emphasizing that the primary goal was to halt further terror attacks orchestrated by the Pakistani deep state.
Using a cricket analogy, General Chauhan asserted that the focus should be on achieving victory regardless of the number of “wickets” lost. He acknowledged that data on destroyed aircraft and other equipment could be shared, but reiterated the importance of prioritizing the operation’s outcome.
This statement follows recent remarks made by General Chauhan in Singapore, where he confirmed India had faced some setbacks during Operation Sindoor. While dismissing Pakistani claims of shooting down six Indian fighter jets, he emphasized the significance of understanding why jets were downed, rather than dwelling on the numbers.
General Chauhan highlighted the Pahalgam attack as an act of “profound cruelty” that triggered widespread revulsion in India, citing the brutal killing of victims in front of their families. He stressed the need to stop cross-border terrorism, which has claimed the lives of approximately 20,000 people in India, and reiterated that Operation Sindoor’s objective was to prevent future attacks supported by the Pakistani deep state.
