**Philadelphia to Host Eight FIFA Club World Cup Matches in 2025**
**PHILADELPHIA, PA –** Philadelphia is set to become a soccer hotspot next summer as FIFA announced that Lincoln Financial Field will host eight matches in the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup 2025. This prestigious tournament, featuring 32 of the world’s top club teams from every continent, will take place across 11 U.S. cities over 30 days.
The city’s matches will kick off on June 16 with a highly anticipated clash between Brazilian powerhouse Flamengo and Esperance Sporting de Tunis from Tunisia. The excitement will culminate on July 4 with a quarterfinal match, solidifying Philadelphia’s pivotal role in the competition.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Philadelphia and Lincoln Financial Field to host the world’s best soccer players and welcome fans from around the globe as we continue to prepare for next summer’s FIFA World Cup 26,” said Larry Needle, Executive Director of PHL Sports.
The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 marks a new era in club soccer, bringing together teams based on sporting merit over a four-year cycle. The winner will be crowned on July 13 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and will receive the newly designed FIFA Club World Cup Trophy, crafted by Tiffany & Co.
“This year, we have a new competition, a new FIFA World Cup – the FIFA Club World Cup – the World Cup of the 32 best club teams in the world,” stated FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “They will determine who are the best players in the world, for the first time in history, which is the best team in the world.”
