**Vijayawada, India – May 28, 2025** – In a significant shift for higher education, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has announced a revision to its Undergraduate (UG) program curriculum, transitioning from a single major to a dual major system. The change, slated to take effect for the academic year 2025-26, aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 and the University Grants Commission (UGC)-2022 revised structure.
APSCHE Secretary (FAC) T.V.S. Krishna Murthy stated that the transition aims to broaden students’ academic horizons and enhance their career prospects. A notification has been issued, inviting applications from all existing private unaided colleges and for unaided programs in private aided Degree colleges to convert from single to dual major programs.
The online application portal will be open from May 29, 2025, and the deadline for submission is June 7, 2025.
