Sat May 24 20:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Twins Surge Past Royals with Late-Inning Homer, Clinch 15th Win in 17 Games

**MINNEAPOLIS, MN** – A ninth-inning, two-run blast from Ty France propelled the Minnesota Twins to a 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Friday night, marking their 15th win in their last 17 games.

The game, which also featured a successful return to the lineup for Carlos Correa, was a tight pitching duel for the majority of the evening. Correa, who was activated from the 7-day injured list after clearing concussion protocol, marked his return with a 429-foot home run in the second inning against Royals rookie Noah Cameron. Adding to the spectacle, fans in attendance received Carlos Correa Jedi bobbleheads.

However, the Royals struck first, with Cavan Biggio driving in Jonathan India with a double in the first inning off Twins starter Pablo López. The score remained tied at 1-1 until the pivotal ninth.

With Correa reaching first on an infield single against Royals reliever Lucas Erceg (1-1), France stepped up to the plate and hammered the first pitch, a slider, 403 feet into the left-center field bullpen. The two-run shot gave the Twins a decisive 3-1 lead.

“That was a huge moment for us,” said Twins manager Rocco Baldelli. “Ty came through in a big way, and it’s great to see him contributing like that.”

While the Royals struggled to capitalize on opportunities, going just 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position against López, Royals pitcher Cameron delivered a stellar performance in his third major league start, allowing just one run on four hits in 6 2/3 innings while striking out eight. He now boasts an impressive 0.93 ERA in 19 2/3 innings.

Cole Sands (3-1) closed out the game for the Twins with a perfect ninth inning.

The series continues Saturday with the Royals’ Michael Wacha (3-4, 2.86 ERA) facing off against the Twins’ Zebby Matthews (0-1, 12.00 ERA). The Twins will look to continue their winning streak, while the Royals aim to bounce back and even the series.
