**Pooran Blasts into IPL History: First to 100 Sixes for Lucknow Super Giants**

**AHMEDABAD, India – May 23, 2025** – Nicholas Pooran etched his name in the Indian Premier League (IPL) record books yesterday, becoming the first player to smash 100 sixes for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The West Indies wicketkeeper-batter achieved the milestone during LSG’s match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Needing three sixes to reach the century mark, Pooran delivered in the 15th over, launching a R. Sai Kishore delivery over the boundary for his 100th IPL maximum for LSG. He reached his half-century in a blistering 23 balls, marking his fifth of the ongoing season. This feat also propelled him past the 500-run mark for IPL 2025.

Pooran’s explosive innings was part of a formidable 121-run partnership with Mitchell Marsh. The Australian T20I captain contributed a stunning 117 runs off 64 balls, including 10 fours and 8 sixes.

Prior to Pooran, only three other LSG batsmen – KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, and Marcus Stoinis – have achieved the feat of scoring at least 500 runs in an IPL season for the Lucknow-based franchise.

Pooran was retained by LSG for a hefty Rs 21 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, following a strong performance in the previous season where he scored 499 runs in 14 matches with three half-centuries.

This season, Pooran has continued his impressive form, starting with a blistering 75 off 30 balls against Delhi Capitals and a 70 off 26 balls against SRH.
