**AIADMK Leader Slams Tamil Nadu CM for NITI Aayog Attendance, Cites “Problem” as Motive**
**COIMBATORE, May 25, 2025** – Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister MK Stalin’s recent participation in the NITI Aayog meeting, after a three-year boycott, is suspect, according to opposition leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami. Speaking to reporters in Coimbatore on Sunday, the AIADMK general secretary suggested Stalin only attended the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, because a “problem” now requires resolution.
Palaniswami argued that Stalin deprived Tamil Nadu of potential funds and schemes by previously avoiding the NITI Aayog meetings. “We will know the truth on what he spoke to the Prime Minister only if the Prime Minister says it,” Palaniswami stated, hinting at a hidden agenda. He also criticized Stalin’s shifting attitude towards Prime Minister Modi, contrasting his past protests with his current more welcoming demeanor.
Beyond the NITI Aayog issue, Palaniswami leveled accusations of widespread corruption under the current “Dravidian model” government, particularly highlighting the ongoing Directorate of Enforcement (ED) investigation into alleged corruption at TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation). He also voiced concerns about the safety of women and children in Tamil Nadu, attributing a rise in crime to drug abuse and accusing the government of inaction despite his warnings.
