**Coimbatore, May 24, 2025 (The Hindu)** – The Nilgiris district administration has issued a series of precautionary measures in response to a red alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for the region. “Trek Tamil Nadu” expeditions scheduled for May 25 and 26 have been cancelled, and boating in Ooty Lake has been suspended for three days.
District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru has also prohibited parking vehicles under trees, anticipating high wind speeds. Moderate rainfall has been observed in Udhagamandalam, Gudalur, and Pandalur since Saturday evening.
