**Versatile Actor Mukul Dev Passes Away at 54**

**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Acclaimed actor Mukul Dev, known for his prolific work across Hindi, Punjabi, and South Indian cinema, as well as television, has tragically passed away at the age of 54. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

Dev, born September 17, 1970, in New Delhi, leaves behind a rich legacy spanning over 25 years in the entertainment industry. He made his debut in the 1996 television series “Mumkin” and the film “Dastak” alongside Sushmita Sen. He went on to star in numerous films, including popular titles such as “Yamla Pagla Deewana,” “Son of Sardaar,” “R… Rajkumar,” and “Jai Ho,” showcasing his versatility in a variety of roles.

News of his passing has prompted an outpouring of grief from colleagues and friends. Actor Vindu Dara Singh confirmed the news and shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, stating, “Rest in peace my brother #MukulDev! The time spent with you will always be cherished… [‘Son of Sardaar 2’] will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing!” Singh also told India Today that, “After his parent’s death, Mukul was keeping to himself. He would even step out of the house or meet anyone. His health deteriorated in the last few days and he was in the hospital… He was an amazing person, and we will all miss him.”

Actor Manoj Bajpayee expressed his sorrow on Twitter: “It’s impossible to put into words what I’m feeling. Mukul was a brother in spirit, an artist whose warmth and passion were unmatched. Dev, a graduate of St. Columba’s School in Delhi and holder of a certificate in aeronautics from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Aviation, reflected on his career in a 2021 interview, describing it as a “long and fulfilling journey.” He acknowledged his satisfaction with the opportunities he received and the unique space he carved out for himself in the industry, often being sought after for specific, memorable roles.
