**Bengaluru Students Dominate KCET 2025 Results; Overall Eligibility Dips**
**Bengaluru, May 24, 2025** – The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2025 results were released today, with students from CBSE schools securing the top ranks in the engineering stream. Bhavesh Jayanthi from Bengaluru topped the engineering stream and also secured the second rank in Pharma-D. Satwik B Biradar secured the second rank in engineering, followed by Dhinesh Gowthami Shankar Arunachalam in third place. All three top rank holders hail from Bengaluru schools.
While the overall performance showcased strong individual achievements, eligibility for various courses, including engineering, has seen a decline this year. 2,62,195 students qualified for engineering courses, down from 2.75 lakh last year.
The trend of reduced eligibility extends beyond engineering. Eligibility for BNYS courses dropped from 2.19 lakh to 1,98,679, and for B.Sc (Agriculture) from 2.15 lakh to 2,14,588.
During the press conference announcing the results, Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar clarified that grace marks were awarded in Physics, and multiple answers were considered correct for certain questions in Biology and Chemistry.
Minister Sudhakar attributed the overall reduction in eligibility to a lower pass percentage among II PUC (Pre-University Course) science students.
In other streams, Harishraj.D.V. topped B.V.Sc with 94.44%, Akshay.M.Hegde topped B.Sc Agriculture with 95.56%, and Aathreya Venkatachalam topped both B-Pharma and Pharma-D with 91.11%. Harishraj.D.V also topped in Nursing and BNYS with 94.44%.
