Fri May 23 18:10:00 UTC 2025: **LSG’s Overseas Trio Shines in IPL 2025, Expose Cracks in Titans’ Armor**

**Lucknow, India** – While the Gujarat Titans’ (GT) dominant top order has rightfully earned plaudits throughout IPL 2025, the Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) foreign contingent of Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran are quietly making waves and, crucially, exposing weaknesses in the Titans’ formidable bowling attack.

The LSG trio, primarily batting at the top, boasts impressive statistics, only trailing GT in average among top-three batsmen combinations and surpassing all other teams in sixes with a staggering 93. They’ve also notched 16 half-centuries, just one shy of GT’s leading 17. Notably, they are the first overseas trio to each score over 400 runs in a single IPL season for the same team.

LSG’s success against GT is particularly noteworthy. Despite LSG’s overall record of six wins, two of those victories have come against the table-topping Titans, who have otherwise only lost two matches against other opponents. This highlights a chink in GT’s armor: their bowlers, despite having three players hold the Purple Cap at various points, have struggled against LSG’s batting lineup, averaging 69.50 and striking at a rate of 39.5 against them – their worst figures against any team this season.

The Titans’ seam attack, known for its tall, hit-the-deck bowlers, has particularly struggled against Marsh, Markram, and Pooran. These LSG batsmen have thrived against shorter deliveries, turning GT’s strength into a vulnerability.

Furthermore, the LSG batsmen have shown remarkable improvement against spin, traditionally a strength of the GT bowling attack led by Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore. Pooran, already considered a master of spin, has been particularly destructive, while Marsh and Markram have significantly improved their scoring rates against both orthodox and unorthodox spin.

This strategic dismantling of GT’s bowling attack offers a potential blueprint for other teams as the tournament progresses. While the Titans’ top order dominance is undeniable, LSG’s overseas trio have proven that they are not invincible. Other teams may now attempt to emulate LSG’s approach in the hopes of dismantling GT’s dominance as the playoffs approach.
