**DHARMAPURI, May 24, 2025 (The Hindu)** – The Dharmapuri District Administration has established a 24-hour helpline and control room as part of its comprehensive disaster management preparedness for the upcoming South-West monsoon season.
Recognizing the potential for monsoon-induced disasters such as flooding, landslides, and hazards posed by thunder and lightning, the administration has implemented preemptive measures to mitigate risks to both humans and livestock.
Collector R. Sadheesh announced the formation of a district-level committee and block-level committees headed by Sub-Collectors. These committees encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including search and relief, transport management, safety, relief and rehabilitation, waterways management, public relations, and public health.
“The aim is to have a coordinated and effective response to any emergencies that may arise during the monsoon season,” stated Collector Sadheesh.
