**Shivamogga, Karnataka – May 23, 2025 -** A tragic road accident near Kumsi in Shivamogga taluk claimed the lives of a woman and her young son on Thursday. Asma Banu, 37, and her three-year-old son, Kabir, both residents of Ajjampura in Chikkamagaluru, were killed when the motorcycle they were riding was struck from behind by a private bus at Tuppur.
Ms. Banu’s husband, Khalandar, and their six-year-old son sustained injuries in the accident. The family was traveling from Ajjampura to Sagar when the collision occurred.
Emergency services transported the injured to McGann Hospital in Shivamogga for treatment. Kumsi police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. The tragic loss has left the community in mourning.
