**Rory Gibson Takes Over as Michael Corinthos on “General Hospital”**
**PORT CHARLES, CA (May 21, 2024)** – A familiar face is joining the “General Hospital” cast! Rory Gibson, best known for his role as Noah Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” will debut as Michael Corinthos on May 23, replacing longtime actor Chad Duell.
“We are excited to welcome him to our show,” a “General Hospital” spokesperson stated.
Gibson’s casting follows Duell’s departure from the role earlier this year. Duell, who won a Daytime Emmy for his portrayal of Michael in 2015, cited a desire for personal growth and change as the reason for his exit. In a recent podcast interview, Duell explained his life had become “stagnant” and he needed to make a change, citing the recent loss of his father.
Gibson described his audition process as “super top secret,” involving screen tests with cast members Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos), Katey MacMullen (Willow Tait), Steve Burton (Jason Morgan), and Laura Wright (Carly Spencer). The actor’s credits also include a role in the Netflix film “Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child Of Fire.”
